Our
Sincere Thanks To Harry & Lena Smith

Gmmy
Radio is proud and honored to air some of the best vocalists and big band
wonderful sounds of music from England every morning and even during the
day. Thanks be to Harry and Lena Smith who took yours truly under
their wing to educate me about the great sounds of the English bands and
pop singers who I was never aware existed. How could I have been
so darn naive to think America was the only country in the world
to have great jazz bands, and super popular singers, not to forget
great opera singers. How wrong I was. But how grateful I am
that two of the nicest people came into my life some 5 or 6 years ago who
introduced me to the legends of England. Not only did Harry and Lena
Smith introduce me to the legends of good music. They went
all out to even supply some of the best pop singers and big bands of England
now featured every day on Gmmy Radio.
Some
of the great vocal legends of the UK., to list but a few of these vocal
giants; Matt Monro, Dickie Valentine, Issy Bonn, Al Bowlly, Denny Dennis,
Jimmy Young, Dick James, Vince Hill, Steve Conway, Sir Harry Secombe, David
Hughes, and the list goes on and on. Some of the Big Bands like;
Harry Roy Band, Carroll Gibbons and his Orchestra, Ted, Heath, Joe Loss,
and of course Ray Noble, Freddy Gardner, and so many more. What a great
run of music these legends swing out on Gmmy Radio, and our thanks again
go to Harry and Lena Smith. I thank you Harry and Lena for taking me under
your wing of guidance to good music from England.
I honestly
doubt if there is any radio stations in the U.S. of A. who spotlight from
England the great singers and bands daily on American radio. What
a shame, however their loss our gain.
Please make yourself
know to Harry and Lena Smith ...
