~ Day In Or Day Out: Doris Day Is Magic To One's Ear  ~

Doris Day The Legendary Lady Of Song

~ By Frank E. Dee ~
Doris Day whom I have always called "America’s sweetheart of song" has enchanted world audiences with her brilliant warm voice for decades.  Doris Day is truly a legend in her time.  She has had scores of hit recordings, and her movies like her recordings have become hits the world over.
As a Doris Day fan and a former radio Host dating back to the early 70’s, at the now defunct WHET in Waltham Mass.  I have never known Doris Day to ever record any song that didn’t leave a remarkable impression on any listener.  Her music was warm, loving and gentle.  Doris Day’s voice had the charm and the charisma to take anyone on "A Sentimental Journey."
The magnificent Doris Day began her career at an early age and only through her own endless efforts was she able to obtain the spotlight she has gained in the eyes of the American public as one of America’s all time singing sensations.  Her list of hit recordings go on starting with "Sentimental Journey to Dream A Little Dream Of Me" and the list of her hit songs go on infinitum.

The best way to relax for a beautiful evening is to pick-up an album of Doris Day hits, and settle back in an easy chair and listen to such plush songs as: ‘I See Your Face Before Me’, ‘Close Your eyes’, ‘You Do Something To Me’, ‘The Night We Called It A Day’, ‘Dream A Little Dream Of Me’, ‘Under A Blanket Of Blue’, ‘The Lamp Is Low’, ‘Moonglow’, ‘Stars Fell On Alabama’, ‘Soft As The Starlight’, ‘Wrap Your Troubles In Dreams’, ‘Moon Song’.  I guarantee that these beautiful songs sung in the Doris Day manner, will make your goose bumps stand-up like little tin soldiers.

Doris Day’s songs touch the heart, be it ‘Day or night or any old time of Day.’  Doris has also that charm and talen in her soothing voice brings back golden music memories of an era filled with nostalgia.
