Walden Hughes is one of the most interesting people in the radio world
of hosts, who I have been honored to have met . Walden is noted to be one
of the rarest radio personalities in the business of radio. He perpetuates
the great old time radio shows every Friday night. He is known as
"The Walking Encyclopedia of Old Time Radio." If you don't believe
that, Just tune in on his shows. Walden is today's legend of our
time, who will keep you wanting to listen to his shows hours on end.
Trust me Walden Hughes is one of the most likeable and loved men in radio.
Walden sums it all up .... There is an interesting story about Walden Hughes working with his co-host Frank Bresee on Friday nights. "I lost my sight when I was 9 years old, and one night Ray Briem took a night off. Bill Ballance took over that night and had Frank Bresee as a guest talking about Old Time Radio and the next day my Dad took me to a store where he bought me two 8 track tapes of radio shows. Now over 30 years later I am producing and co-hosting the show with Frank Bresee on Friday night. " Walden started to collect OTR radio around 1976 after hearing Frank Bresee as a guest on a talk show. Walden became an Eagle Scout in 1982. He graduated in 1990 from University of California at Irvine with a degree in Economic, another in Political Science and a minor in Management. He worked over 10 years in selling investments. Walden obtained his MBA in 1995 from University of California of Irvine. He also worked in the entertainment business in putting together archives of OTR, and other entertainment items for celebrities like the singer Kitty Kallen, and the Sinatra Family. He started to produce and co-host many celebrities interviews for Yesterday USA starting September 2000. In May of 2002 Walden started broadcasting live on the week end from his home studio. On Friday nights Frank Bresee is Walden's co-host, and on Saturday nights author Martin Grams make a monthly visit, and Larry Gassman. Walden conduct other interviews that is heard on Saturday night. You can read all about the Yesterday USA Radio at the web site. Still today Walden
shares his Live Celebrity interviews with the stars of Old Time Radio,
Movies, TV and Music are presented (usually LIVE) on Saturday
Nights. A show you would not want to miss or any of the shows Walden is
broadcasting... For instance and I quote from Walden's web site schedule:
"Frank Bresee ("the Living Legend of Old Time Radio") and Walden Hughes
("the walking encyclopedia of Old Time Radio") step up to the microphone
LIVE on Friday Nights.
"The Golden Age of Radio," originally broadcast on WTIC, Hartford, CT, can now be heard every Saturday night on Walden Hughes's program on http://www.yesterdayusa.com/ Walden's show is also heard in hospitals, nursing homes, and on select satellite systems. Mr. Grams is a monthly guest on Walden Hughes' YESTERDAY USA radio program. Yesterday USA
